Location: Okeechobee, Florida - community hospital (≈100 beds) Assignment Locum tenens, ongoing PRN assignment (minimum 6 months) On-site hospital coverage; shifts scheduled on-site (specific times to be determined) No call responsibilities Hospital & Patient Population Rural, community-based hospital Daily census ≈50 patients Typical rounding load: 20-24 patients/day Daily admissions: ≈12 No trauma service; primary internal medicine cases Open ICU - physician will round and manage critically ill patients as appropriate No consult service Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient hospital medicine care Admit and manage inpatient medical conditions; coordinate discharge planning and outpatient follow-up Round on ~20-24 patients per day and manage ~12 admissions/day Manage critically ill patients in the open ICU; collaborate with Pulmonology and Cardiology for ventilator management and procedures as needed Perform clinically indicated procedures (procedural competency preferred but not mandatory) Work collaboratively with nursing, case management, respiratory therapy, PT, laboratory, and other support services Credentials & Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active Florida medical license Current BLS and ACLS certifications EOE
