Locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician position in Sanford, FL. Overview: Provide high-quality emergency care on a locum tenens basis across emergency department settings. Manage a broad spectrum of acute conditions, stabilize patients, and coordinate disposition and follow-up. Key responsibilities: Perform focused history and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests. Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and procedural interventions (e.g., minor laceration repair, incision and drainage, joint reductions). Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and arrange appropriate transfer when needed. Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record. Communicate effectively with nursing staff, consultants, and patients/families. Adhere to departmental policies, quality and safety protocols, and local regulations. Minimum qualifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM). Active Florida medical license. Current ACLS and PALS certifications. Valid DEA registration (preferred or obtain prior to start, depending on assignment). Recent ED clinical experience and strong procedural skills. Location: Sanford, FL - historic downtown, waterfront parks, close to Orlando amenities. Shift details, compensation, and contract length to be provided upon inquiry. EOE
