Ochsner Clinic Foundation
New Orleans, LA
We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate. We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways. At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters. Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today! Ochsner Health is seeking a BC Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist with expertise (Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship) in mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and transplantation. Key roles and primary responsibilities will include clinical oversight (inpatient/outpatient), quality improvement (UNOS/CMS compliance), MCS/Transplant program development, and academic contributions, working closely with the section Head of the Advanced HF and LVAD and transplant surgical directors. The candidate would join and lead a multidisciplinary team (4 BC advanced HF staff physicians, 6 mid-level providers, and a 7th year advanced heart failure fellowship position) and demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Advanced Heart Failure, including inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services. Additionally, we have a large CardioMEMS program, amyloidosis program, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac sarcoid clinics. The Ochsner Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic which is PHA certified and quite robust and well-established is also a program the candidate would be able to participate in as it is run by the Advanced Heart Failure Team. As a health system with several Ochsner owned and Ochsner-affiliated medical centers we have established a cardiogenic shock initiative that is multidisciplinary in approach and growing throughout the state and the Gulf South region. We hope to find someone that is comfortable and interested in working in the academic environment, with a strong cardiology fellowship that is integral to our inpatient team dynamic. The Department of Cardiology at OMC includes 45 cardiologists working at the academic medical center in New Orleans as part of our nationally recognized cardiology group of 80 cardiologists practicing at nine locations across southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi as a member of the Ochsner Health’s John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute. Additionally, the Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute is a regional leader with heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and dual organ transplantation. Are you ready to make a difference?
