Join a busy, community-based Emergency Department in Sebring, Florida, as a locum Emergency Medicine physician. This ongoing assignment offers a balanced schedule, robust APP support, and the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a welcoming setting. Assignment details Facility: Community hospital Emergency Department Location: Sebring, FL Annual volume: ~18,000 visits ED size: 13 beds Coverage model: single-physician shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) APP coverage: 8 hours daily in off-season; 10 hours during peak season Admission rate: ~15% Dedicated senior ER for geriatric patients EMR: MEDHOST Duration: ongoing locum coverage Key responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of emergency presentations Lead and supervise APPs and ED staff during shifts Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and arrange admissions or transfers as needed Coordinate with nursing and hospitalist teams to optimize patient flow and care quality Accurately document all encounters in MEDHOST Requirements Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain prior to start Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications Preferred: two or more years of recent ED experience What we offer Dedicated 24/7 locums consultant to manage credentialing and scheduling 100% travel reimbursement on top of hourly rate Malpractice coverage with tail provided Competitive hourly pay 1099 independent contractor status EOE
