We are hiring a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician for locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida to support increased patient volumes. This is primarily PM coverage in a collaborative, well-supported ED. Position highlights Shift length: primarily 10 hours (PM shifts) Patient population: adults only (pediatric patients seen in a separate pediatric ED) ED capacity: 33 bays Volume: ~1.8-2.0 patients/hour Admission rate: 26-30% Trauma designation: non-trauma center Clinical responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergent and urgent adult conditions Perform indicated emergency procedures and initial stabilization Arrange admissions or transfers to higher levels of care as needed Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality care Complete accurate, timely documentation in the EMR Adhere to departmental protocols and quality standards Staffing model 3-4 emergency physicians per shift 3 advanced practice providers Full nursing and ancillary support Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) Minimum 6 months of emergency medicine experience Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure Current DEA registration Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills EOE
