Location Carbondale, Illinois Schedule Full-time Two weeks on / two weeks off 183 24-hour shifts per year Additional shifts compensated at $4,500 per shift Compensation Annual base: $823,500 Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with corporate match Disability insurance $2,500 annual CME allowance Malpractice insurance with tail coverage provided Tail coverage remains available with 120 days' notice of separation Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care for inpatient and outpatient populations Perform cranial and spinal surgical procedures Evaluate and manage emergency and inpatient neurosurgical consultations Provide preoperative and postoperative patient management Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation Minimum Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery residency Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery Active Illinois medical license Demonstrated surgical proficiency across neurosurgical procedures Procedural Case Minimums (past 12 months) Spinal surgical cases: ≥50 Cranial surgical cases: ≥10 Peripheral nerve cases (if requesting): ≥5 EOE
