Neurosurgeon - Carbondale, IL
Join our medical team in Carbondale, IL as a neurosurgeon delivering comprehensive surgical care for patients with neurological disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to plan and perform procedures, manage perioperative care, and drive excellent patient outcomes while contributing to department growth and quality initiatives. Schedule and workload Full-time, two weeks on / two weeks off (183 24-hour shifts per year). Additional shifts are available and compensated at $4,500 per shift. Compensation and benefits Base compensation: $823,500 per year. Health, vision, and dental insurance. 401(k) with corporate match. Disability insurance. $2,500 per year toward CME. Employer-paid malpractice coverage, including tail coverage (tail provided if 120 days’ notice is given upon separation). Key responsibilities Provide preoperative, operative, and postoperative neurosurgical care across a broad range of pathologies. Perform complex and routine neurosurgical procedures with high technical skill and judgment. Collaborate with neurology, critical care, radiology, anesthesia, and ancillary services to optimize patient care. Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and clinical documentation requirements. Support teaching and mentoring as appropriate. Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency. Board certified or board eligible in neurosurgery. Valid Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain one).
